Update on Karioi

Oi burrow hunting with species dogs along the Mt Karioi coastline

It’s been a busy first half of the year for the Karioi – Maunga ki te Moana project in Whaingaroa/Raglan. Since March, over 30km of new tracks have been cut across Karioi mountain and during winter there is ongoing monitoring of the Oi / Grey-Faced Petrels burrows. In spring, new stoat traps will begin to be deployed. If you’re interested in volunteering and/or bringing a group to visit the project, contact us at: [email protected]
