Sustain Camp 2022

22nd November 2022

Over the October school holidays, A Rocha partnered with Scripture Union to host Sustain Camp 2022 at the Karioi Project in Whāingaroa Raglan. Eleven tamariki ranging from ages 11 to 17 joined this adventure and environmental camp to explore the many different expressions of the local environment. As they explored the local environment from the mountain to the sea, they considered how to contribute sustainably to the world around us, and also how to sustain our relationship with God.

Tamariki learnt about Aotearoa’s unique environment, about predator control and even built traps! They explored the secret paths of Karioi maunga as they checked trap lines. They sat around a campfire and enjoyed the glow of the fire and good conversations. They explored where our food comes from and helped out on a local farm with the most spectacular views! They also enjoyed the moana through swims and surfs as they consider the significance of water. Lots to love and cherish!
