Eco Church staffing changes in Wellington

22nd November 2022

Most of you involved with Eco Church in Wellington would have met and gotten to know Amy Ross, A Rocha’s Eco Church Community Coordinator in the Wellington region. Amy has done an amazing job connecting with church communities throughout the Wellington region and supporting them in their eco church initiatives. We’re so pleased to celebrate with Amy and Dan and their boys, Ben and Caleb – the arrival of the newest member of their family – Jesse Ethan Ross on 29 Oct.

We are also thrilled to welcome Sonia Groes-Petrie to the A Rocha team as parental leave cover for Amy. Most recently Sonia has been a carbon auditor and certifier with Toitū Envirocare and she is looking forward to bringing that experience to the Eco Church project to help churches with calculating and reducing their carbon footprints. Sonia will also be supporting Climate Stewards as they customise 360°carbon – the carbon calculator for churches for the Aotearoa context. Sonia is part of the St Andrew’s on The Terrace church community in Te Whanganui-a-Tara/Wellington and lives in Te Awa Kairangi ki Tai/Lower Hutt. Nau mai ki Hāhi Tautaiao o Aotearoa, Sonia!
