The Karioi Project, managed by A Rocha Aotearoa New Zealand, is a community-led conservation programme working to restore biodiversity across the Whāingaroa landscape. Focused on seabird protection, species monitoring, predator control, and environmental education, the project is restoring biodiversity and reconnecting people with the mauri of Mt Karioi and its surrounding landscapes.
