The Eco Church team

It is with mixed emotions that we announce Rebecca Webb’s departure from the Eco Church team as she prepares for the birth of her second child. Rebecca has been a passionate and diligent steward of this network, and we are incredibly grateful for the care she has given to Eco Church. Her contribution has been invaluable, and she will be deeply missed. We wish her and her family all the best in this exciting new chapter.

At the same time, we are excited to welcome Millie Vette to our team. Millie is young, passionate, and deeply committed to Jesus, the Church, and the vision of the Eco Church network. Having completed a fellowship at The Venn Foundation, she brings experience from her time serving with St Paul’s Eco Church team in Auckland. We are thrilled to have her join us and look forward to the fresh energy and insight she will bring.

We hear from Rebecca as she moves on to an exciting new phase in her family life:

“For the last year, I’ve had the privilege of being the Eco Church regional coordinator for upper North Island. Thank you for inviting me to speak at many of your churches and denominational gatherings, and for sharing your dreams and visions of Eco Church with me. I’ve been inspired and encouraged by our conversations. The church is truly embracing it’s vocation to care for God’s good creation through many creative expressions of caring for the environment in our region and it gives me great hope for the future.”

“Sadly my time as regional coordinator has come to an end – this is my last week with Eco Church as I prepare for the birth of our next child. But I’m excited to introduce you to Millie Vette who will be taking over my role. Millie is a quality lady who will bring a fresh perspective and enthusiasm to our region of Eco Churches.”

And let’s hear from Millie as she joins the team:

“Kia ora! I was born and raised in Tamaki Makaurau and currently live on the North Shore with my family. I have a Bachelors of Industrial Design from Auckland University of Technology and have recently completed the Venn Residential Fellowship.”

“I love exploring God’s creation and am excited to journey alongside church communities as they care for our beautiful creation. With a background in design I love exploring creative solutions to problems and exploring new ways to inspire individuals and communities to care for our creation! Having grown up in Auckland I spent my summers camping with my family across the upper north island. I believe that it was during these times spent encapsulated by creation that my love and care for it was nurtured. I can also often be found walking though our local bush, sewing and knitting along with gardening and restoring furniture.”

“I can’t wait to get to know you all on this next adventure!”

Te aroha noa me te rangimārie ki a koutou.
Grace and peace be with you.

The Eco Church team has been made up of James Beck, Mo Morgan, Rebecca Webb, and Iris Lee with support from Kristel van Houte… and now our newest team member, Millie Vette. The team is here to support church communities across Aotearoa to actively care for God’s good creation as an integral part of their mission.
